Nightmares

I was sitting there across from him on his couch, next to my friend.  He sat upon the chair next to his girlfriend, my best friend.  He ignored her existence for the most part, smiling at me fiendishly.  It took me only moments to realize whom I sat before.

Only months earlier he had held me here in this very home against my will.  I was trying to figure out why the layout looked so familiar.  To my right was a hallway, with multiple bedrooms and a bathroom.  All of which he tortured me in.  However, the master bedroom at the end of the hall to the left was his favorite to keep me in.  To my left had been the green room in which he held us when we “misbehaved”.  There was no food or water, just barbed wired walls and the sun peaking in the windows.
He had two dogs, I remembered.  Cruiser and Bruiser were their names.  Somehow, in the intensity of my last captivity they had passed away.  Murdered or old age, I’m not sure.

After realizing the fear creeping into me, I jolted from the sudden ring on my phone.  His eyes grew tense.  It was my mom’s friend Dana.  Immediately I hollered into the phone telling her to track my phone and call the cops.  Repeatedly I screamed “call the cops” before he had the chance to mangle my phone.  It hadn’t been long before the cops had shown up.  He knew they were coming, he didn’t bother to try anything harmful in anyway.

The policemen escorted us off the premises and back into town.  My best friend realized that she had forgotten something at her boyfriend’s house and demanded we go back to get it.  Without the safety of the policemen, I reluctantly went back.  I sat on edge for the duration.  We all ended up going back inside his house momentarily as she gathered her belongings, and as we walked out the door he stood with the screen door open, smiling maniacally.

“You remember those trees, don’t you?  My dear Cruiser and Bruiser.”
His smile turned into a mocking laughter as his eyes grew dark and sadistic.  My best friend held a friendly smile herself.  She stood outside as I opened my car door, realizing the old military uniform hung up in my car.  I turned the key and the windshield wipers started flying, the car started leaking fluids, and a fire began to blaze inside me.  It only took me seconds to realize what was going on.

I was trapped again.  The fire started rising from my chest, my heart beating ten times faster than a racing terrified heart.  I turned to look at his face and he only giggled

My torture was to soon begin again.
