duty.

i hear you
folding whites in darkness
and overlapping your smile
with a frown

i am afraid
these 9 o’clock nights won’t last.

i can watch you
through the crack between
my closed eyelids.

your shadow darts
holding duty and love in your
blistered hands.

i am afraid
that even love is duty, in a disguise.

    ooo

I loved this poem and how the beginning can tell the rest of the poem. The sadness was poigant and I loved the imagery and how you bared your soul.

The message is beautiful and I am glad those nights are behind you in a way but also it is saddening. just be strong and life will be just fine. love you too!

    PANIC!

moving on... this is a really sad poem, in a beautiful and sweet way. i know, i'm confusing myself too. but anyhoo... you have cracks between your closed eyelids!?! gosh charu! okay i know i know, its just a phrase, but that one, was amazing. it just gave me this rather um scary and out of this world mental image. woosh, okay and your last stanza made me wonder, ponder, think. not so much, but it still did okay! love ain't a duty, well at least i hope it isn't keep smiling, this was a sad tragic poem.
