Unlighted Candle

Yester years melted scorching recollections
lingering for mania to occupy;

compulsion trapped him.

An enduring cabinet displayed memories
in remembrance of an excruciating partition

"What do you do,
When the candle of love is blown out?"

Author notes

Prompt: Obsession; it's not there to control you, it's there to slip you up.

    I officially love you! (But not in a bad way) You used the word compulsion and you used it perfectly. You found the perfect way to express the obsession in that word. I love the question at the end of the poem.

    Thanks for entering and being patient
