The silence was empty,
free of soul, free of
Life. It fell hard
against the solid, stone floor
that bruised our bone at touch.
And we sat, quiet,
frozen in the ever silent.
Outside the river ran
Strongly and fast.
Inside,
Silence set in soft and slow,
The peaceful roar
of water,
The deadening silence
of earth.
And we sat, quiet,
frozen in the ever silent.
Rigid, rock-like
staring ahead, steely.
The air weighing
-heavily- down on
our shoulders. Bearing
The world, of
Sorrow and Sadness.
Pain and Suffering.
Death.
Life.
Soon the death in
the air filled
our stone bodies.
Numbing our minds,
Deadening our bodies,
Deserting our souls.
And we sat, quiet,
frozen in the ever silent.
We cannot move our
heavy souls,
heavy hearts.
That weigh our minds with weary
Silence.
We begun to feel the
surrounding air dance
-ever the slightest- and
taunt us with her
ability to do so.
-Snake-like-
Leering.
And all the while,
we sit, quiet,
frozen in the ever silent...
Forever.

This was an interesting write. I thought that the repetition of 'frozen in the ever silent' was a little monotonous at first, but towards the end, I thought it was fine. Excellent write and good luck in my contest.

Omg I love this. Absolutely amazing. A piece of work that you didn't force, didn't lower to any certain form, and that worked quite nicely for you. Good luck on the contest and my deepest apologies that it has takent his long to judge!
