We wish
we wish
for all the world's dreams.
we seek the satisfaction
of a thousand sobs
turned into happiness.
Here's the desire
to turn the lies thrown at us
constantly that you can't
dream,
can't be what you want to be
that you are only as good
as society says you are
into a denial of denials
so we say
to the hell with
society's dictates
and rules about who ought to be rich
and who is going to be popular.
We vanquish self-loathing
for life is too short to spend
in despair about what might have been
and what just isn't fair - that'd be everything,
and transform this self-loathing into a continual search
for self-actualization, the pinnacle of existence.
Here's the eternal goal,
to be debt free
both financially and emotionally
for we have been living too long
entangled within the webs of
we cannot do this
we should not do that
to the hell with all the rules
that worrying inflicts upon us.
We wish
we wish
for all the world's dreams
to take flight
and pierce through society's expectations
while banishing the limitations of doubt
and screams of this is too much
with the snares of poverty
cast off as we ride expectation's wave
our own expectations
to become
that which we should be.

I rather enjoyed this.
YOU know. It reminded me of this book i read the other week. It's about this girl who chokes on a gummy bear (don't worry its relevant you just have to know the book) Heehee, but i really liked this especially the part about the eternal goal to be debt free. I thought it was a wonderful way of putting it all together. MAY THE FORCE BE WITH YOU.

Are you two sisters? Or friends? I'm quite curious. You two refering to our wonderfully amusing contest hosts, I mean.
Thanks, I'm glad you liked my poem. I had fun writing it. What's the name of the book my poem reminded you of? I laughed after reading your AP profile. Now I'll have to check out some of your poems as well.
And may the farce be with you.
