Your Face

Days become weeks
months now years
as time passes by
the pain dissappears.
At first it was unbearable
like all bad dreams,
but the longer I sleep
the easier it seems.
I've finally woke up
to face a new day.
I realize now
you weren't meant to stay.
I still don't know why
or what happened for real.
I can't begin to imagine
the peace that you feel.
I just know you're in Heaven
waiting for me.
I look forward to the day
when it's your face that I see.

    Wow!
The rhyme and rhythm in this was magnificent and catches the readers attention (well it certainly made me sit up and pay attention in any case ).
    Beautiful words and great impact.
Thanks for entering and good luck!

Every time I read this one it brings tears to my eyes. I wrote it about my little brother. I miss him dearly. It was gang related. He was only 15 and had just been saved. He'd not even been active in the gang for a long time, but he still had enemies. Life's hard sometimes. Our experiences just make us stronger. Thank God Sean was saved !!! And thanks for the comment. Glad you enjoyed the poem.
