Standing outside at the window bright
Looking on in awe at the glowing lights
Cold winds blowing there in the snow
Dreaming of the fire's warming glow
Is this the spirit that they talk about
To be on the inside instead of the out
I heard the preacher talk about Bethlehem
Baby Jesus born oh to be warm again
Smelling all the scents of cooking food
I don't understand I tried to be good
Time to return to the shack called home
No Christmas tree just me alone
So remember me when you welcome the day
Think of me when you sit down to pray

Individuals have different experiences, which is alright as long as every individual treats every other individual with respect -- which doesn't happen.

What a sad Christmas poem. We should all remember those who are sad and lonely this Christmas. Your words are so heartfelt. Thank you for sharing. Take care, Many Blessing and Gods Love to fill your day my friend. Sandy

This has such a saddened tone to it. But so many could walk in those very shoes you write about and the empty feelings to go with them.
But you're one that will be through of this holiday season anyways.
Good luck in the contest hun
