my man who loved the sea.....

the man who loved the sea

always filled with passion for life

this was the man who loved me

now he is in heaven and no longer in pain
but when he was alive he never complained

my man was genuine and very kind
always thought about others to bring them peace of mind

he gave to so many from his heart
he gave them wings for their dreams and a start

he was so simple not fancy or flash
all he wanted was to bring joy to so many

he was the giver to so many
i now live with my memories and they keep me company
at my time of grieving and pain

i miss him and i wish i could talk to him again
he was very patient and wise
always had a sparkle in his eyes

he was a man that came from simple means
then he blossomed and created his dream

they all came true
family, friends and lots of adventures too

he left behind a legacy and was never boastful

my man who loved the sea

he will always be a part of me.......

    Superb plus

Ah, 'tis a very fine write, and tribute, indeed. Imagery; rhythm and rhyme are just fine. You have my empathy.

it reminds my of my wife's father. he was a sailor who passed away several years ago--1 week before we got married, in fact.

May you always celebrate the gifts he left you with so you could live a life larger than big and share the heart that is so large inside of you. For in the end, after the grief has dried the last tear and blown away like dandelion seeds on a vagrant wind, you have the more than just the memories. You have a reflection in your heart of how big you became from all the love he showered you with. Now, you can live as big as you can knowing he would want you to soar every chance you get and shower the universe with the smiles that flutter and flap for freedom in the heart. He will always be waiting for the last dance the one you waltz with him across the face of the sun.
    Love,
    Tom B.
