Things Might Have Been Different

She walked away crying,
Because enough was enough
A few years of trying,
And she couldn't buy love
They told her not to give up,
To not let it go
But what she put on,
Was more than a show
Family by blood,
But enemies by fate
They tried to come together,
But time said too late
Forgiveness forgotten,
They both looked away
She couldn't push past,
There was too much to say


She tried to look past,
For one month too long
But some things she just knew,
She knew all along
