suicide is a selfish thing
think of all the pain you would bring
to your family and friends who care
their lives would be ruined without you there
Think of the pain that you would cause
suicide should be against many laws
how would they punish you?
for murdering yourself,
I guess its up to you
for punishing yourself
taking your own life
can cause a lot of pain
sadness is all that anyone will gain
suicide is a selfish thing
if you are not a selfish person
then i don't suggest this to you
because the life of people living
will be affected by you
Suicide is Selfish
do you want your legacy to live
reminding everyone how selfish you are
to take your life from them
your past...
the reason you are here today
Please don't take your life away
we need you continuing to live on
your legacy, keeping your heart strong

I appreciated this not only for the carefully chosen wording but it reminds me of my child and his struggles, and that he has learned to "keep his heart strong." Most suicides are from those who hides their feelings and makes others feel all is ok . They refuse to open up to someone it doesnt have to be a family member just open up get those thoughts and feeling out into the open and you shall find you werent ever alone you just chose not to let anyone else in to help you find your way . Suicide one never has the right to takes their own life for there is nothing in this world anyone could possibly do that would be so bad that they should feel they no longer want to live . Nothing they have done hasnt been done by many upon this earth and to find this out you must talk to someone tell them your feelings for most often it isnt the inner soul that wants to end their life its the things we injest like rugs and pills and booze that makes our minds unable to comprehend any longer what life could be

very inspiring! I wish I had read this a few years back when I was going through these problems. Might have helped me get passed those times a little quicker. You make a very good case as to why you shouldn't. And a great write at the same time! Good flow and good message! Good jobs with this!

This is amazing. I don't tell many people about this, but I attempted suicide when I was 15, ended up in the hospital in the psych ward and couldn't understand why my "captors" (what I called the docs and nurses) wouldn't just let me die. I felt it was my choice to live or die, no one elses. But a few years later, I realized my death wouldn't end my pain, but cause so much more to those I would have left behind. At almost 20 now, my life has completly turned around and I'm in love with life, my life, and the people that are in it. I wish this poem could reach anyone and everyone who has ever considered suicide, because so few are as lucky as I was to be rescued. Thank you for sharing.
p.s- I had planned on reading your poems and commenting as a thank you for your kindness, little did I know I would come across a poem that would be so dear to my heart.

I can surely see how you can feel this way, but my personal view on this, we're all going to die anyway, and the fact of the matter is, I'm pretty sure if someone gets to that point in life to actually go through with it, their far more bad off than others may even know. It's no easy way out, if it was, alot more souls would do it. I'm against it, but I'll never go so far to say I don't understand. I've been down, but not out yet. Thanks for sharing, I know you mean well, and that's one certain thing I know, you have a heart of gold. Thanks for sharing you, peace and love.

Suicide is a very sad thing. Good job for writing this for letting the readers know what is your opinion on suicide. Some people have suicide thoughts but they do not do committ suicide and hopefully they don't it. There is hope.
