God's Fancy

Missing image
Creation laughing bubbles,
tickling God's fancy~
but the joke is on us.

Skin dewed by youth;
clear eyes sparkle diamonds,
ornamenting the fertile glory
of immortal thoughts.

Tears watermark clear vision...
Alluvial fans chisel vulnerable faces...
Winds spin fine grains to salt statues...

Old photographs view faded beauty--
edges timeworn scrolls.

A balance struck between youth and age.
Silver threads plait fading colors
to delicate antique lace,
and eyes grow wise.

Knotted truth unravels
we finally get the joke,
and laugh our prayers.

All things in due time. There is a beauty in all the ages, stages, phases of our life the secret is to know none is better than the other. Oh, God's little joke indeed. I love the wonderful words you have used in this and wish I had half the talent.

    "Tears watermark clear vision...

THIS is one of these stanzas that makes me gasp. How I wish I could write like this. Beautifully descriptive with its earthy reality. Exceptionally well done.

"A balance struck between youth and age." - and this one. I am in that balance just now - thinking on it and viewing old photographs.

You have written beautifully to this prompt. Thank you for such a splendid entry. Best of luck in the judging. ~Pamela

I love the interest in life's twists and turns spread before me this poem. You leave me thankful and smiling for the light of wisdom that leaves us such lacings of beauty within it's circle of love.

    Very lovely write!
