Phoenix Hope

Black dust settles on the red battlefield.
We stare at the beauty that was there,
just moments before.
Can it be?
That seems so long ago...
We have brought about this destruction with,
our own hands,
our petty rage.
We are the murderers of what we want.
Need?
Yet, WAIT!
Could it be?
Yes, a golden sparkle.
Fiery light spreads across the dead land.
Poppy red, delicate amber, flashing yellow!
Stronger and stronger the flames grow!
Pushing upwards, fire reaches to its sister stars.
A pure note echoes from the flaming beak.
Its meaning echoes in the darkness of the valley,
Another chance!

So, here is the choice?
The golden bird has given us hope, given us everything we asked for.
Needed?
Can we overcome ourselves?
And fight the battle against that human evil we share.
The phoenix, our glorious light in the dark says
Yes!

Let the Phoenix rise again!

This is a very good poem. However, it's kind of vague as to what is rising from the ashes. Is it about love, war or materialism? I'm not really sure. Besides that, I get a great visual of the Phoenix, and its glory.
