a Tribute to Rustynite (Aka: Robert David Stone)

although i never knew him
people say he is great

novice writers see his work
and what poems he did make

we all take inspiration
from what he left behind

but still we mourn this ominous event
that we all have been entwined

dear RustyNite

you, our hearts will miss

the poetry you left behind

will surely help us reminisce

so sleep well from now on and forever

you may now rest your bones

sooth your aches and ease your pains

dear Robert David Stone

Author notes

this is a tribute to a great friend to many, and a great person to all... RustyNite, you changed many hearts for the better may you rest in peace.

i think it is fate that i wrote this poem. because i found out something really freaky when i read about RustyNite. i joined the website the very same day that he died... so maybe i was destined or something to write this poem but he changed other peoples lives im sure he can change many more even though he is gone now, because his work that he left behind can still be passed on with our help. and it WILL change even more lives for the better.

    Very Nice....

It seems through your words that you knew him although you say you didn't...but I think you are right that you were destined to write this because it was written with such heart and soul...I know that David has read this ...as you were writing it no doubt, but I know that he enjoyed every word of every line and the awesome rhyme and flow!!!! Thanks for your entry and the best of luck in my contest!!!!~~~Toni~~~

He did indeed leave inspiration in his wordsFor those of us who had the pleasure of his company can reflect upon those words with a smile. Those who read his work in the future can reflect and wonder on who he was but the comfort, smiles, depth of his wisdom will be there in his words. They speak for him now. You have penned a nice tribute to this poet ..rustynite..our very dear friend. Good luck in the contest....smile
You ask so I will answer .. Rustynite was my friend we spoke a lot shared many smiles found solutions to injustices of life...he saw life with a clear vision and his poetry reflected his wisdom...he brought me comfort and balance and his sense of humour was not lost. He knew what was important in life while maintaining dignity and respect. The rusty one was unique.
