What a dreary conversation
that has evoked my appetite
In the mist of your inquiry
my heart spread wings in flight
It was you that I've been
searching for all of my life
what a crazy place to finally
meet my future wife
How ironic that I should find you
in the clouds of my contentment
without thunder roaring or lights
flashing, you've become my endearment
Can we take this conversation
to a candlelight dinner for two
Where we can get better acquainted
because I've fallen in love with you
Author notes
The idea behind this poem is that love and romance
can come at any time in our mundane existence.
Sometimes we feel that there must be some
spectacular event or happening when love comes.
This piece takes a dreary day in the life of two
people and transforms it into a day that they will
remember for the rest of their lives.
