The Forest Fey

Water as clear as crystal laps the waters edge
Where fairy flowers grow
Tiny fish swim here and there
Shiny scaly flitting and diving.
Reeds stand proud by the rivers edge Lords of water
Thats what they like to think!

May flies dance erratically gliding on gentle zephyrs breeze.
Butterflies myriad colours bright
Alighting on silken flower heads.
The fay of the forest live in perfect harmony
Singing from toadstools dancing the fairie jig.
Riding high on Dragonflies backs
Darting and diving and teasing

Cyan the gaurdian of the water
Dressed in fluffy lichen and cobweb dress
Adorned by a snail pendant and seed poppy cloak pin
She calls to the water lilly from hidden depths.
Nymphs of the waters entice with perfect song
All who would traverse these forests blest
Splashing in emerald waters with innocent abandonment.
Pallid flesh and obsidian hair
clothed with verdant waterweed dress.
Within this forest of beauty the Divine Flame burns
Born of cosmic light.

    It is a great PW

This is sheer descriptive poetry in a floral language that is so very visual. What a wonderfully penned piece.

was wondering if you have a typo in your fine poem: The Forest Fey ??? It is the word "fay"
in the 2nd stanza line 4 is "the fay of the forest "

    typo possibility: fey vs. fay

Here is what I got off Google:

    fey Definition
    fey (fā
    adjective
    1. Now Chiefly Scot.
    1. fated; doomed to death: archaic except in Scottish usage
    2. in an unusually excited state, formerly believed to portend sudden death
strange or unusual in any of certain ways, as, variously, eccentric, whimsical, visionary, elfin, shy, otherworldly

    OR
    fay¹ Definition
    fay (fā
    noun
    a fairy
Etymology: ME faie < OFr fée < VL fata, one of the Fates < L fatum: see fate
    fay² Definition
    fay (fā
    noun
    Archaic faith: used in oaths
Etymology: ME fei < OFr: see faith

I think "fay" is the typo - but maybe there is a better definition that fits. Thought I would inform you just in case, and because I make so many I that never see until some kind soul enlightens me for which I am max appreciative. - billpoet
