White twisted blazes of morning
wipe themselves over my sweet memories.
Dear beloved darkness gone to rest.
Fold my hands in a clench of catechism,
forced to sunlight for its weary hours.
Magical night gone to play its sonata quietly.
Then the roar of velvet raises its tongue
lapping away the pitiless hateful daylight.
Waiting for the wings of tender sunset
to bring love once again to the world.

Hmmm, I don't think I catch your meaning. I think your imagery is very vivid and I wish you luck ion the contest. -
Hood-Winked!
I really like the way you have written this is such a gentle way, yet you also show the stark contrast between day and night
nicely done!
Keep writing

Hood Wink!
Beautifully penned ~
This is such a softly written poem; the flow and imagery washes over me as I read so calmly I found myself reading this a few times before realising
♥
Stay safe
