I remember the last time he said he loved me
As he turned over his shoulder and smiled
He called out to me and said;
I will be back in a little while
Away he went until he was seen no more
Riding his metal beast
The sun set quick and all was dark
Dread hung over me heavily
A blazing ring chimed from the phone
Saying please come quickly for time may go
I rode the wind to get to him
Just to find him all broken, wanting to let go
An angel from the sky carrying an army
Whisked him away as I cried
Taking him to those who heal
To try and keep him alive
I followed their trail to be with him
Fell to my knees by his side
I cried so hard as the Angel’s spoke
He is barely clinging onto life
They tried to comfort me and wipe my tears
Yet said there is no more that they can do
Hold him close for one last time,
Tell him you love him too
I spoke those words with sobs and pain
Wishing I had stopped him on this fateful night
Seventeen was only he and my only child
He lay before me yet breathing
Though he was there no more
I said I love you, then kissed his sweet face
My tears flooded the floor
He silently slipped away that night, then he was no more

This is in Dedication to Jonathon who recently lost his life when struck from a vehicle while riding his 4 wheeler. He was only 17 and a only child, may he rest in peace.

this is so so sad.. this is pain that is extremely hard to bare..I feel for your pain my friend and pray the pain lessens with each day..

It's extremely sad Swan, his father wept so hard and wouldn't leave his side. The man that had hit him was an old farmer who didn't see him until it was too late, he cried above and asked to be taken in Jonathons place. This just happened last week, my heart goes out to the family and the poor old man who hit him, I know this will burden them all until the day they die. Such a terrible loss..
