He walks through a storm ~
a badge of honour
pinned to his khaki chest
behind built up walls
and kick and cuff holes
brave enough to fight for his country
unable to whisper
'I love you'
before the lights went out
to the man on the left side of his heart.

This is beautiful, sweetie... As I said to another poet recently, "I love you" is the hardest sentence to utter in the English language; the first time I used it, I may well have been speaking in binary-code
