Amorous condensation
Caressing
Down the purple red hued glass
Bumble bees stumbling about
A dandelioned yard
Under the baby’s bare toes
Sky’s eye watching warmly
Her befreckled limbs
And the baby
The baby
The boy
Little Jack
Clouds tossing about
In the shaking sky
Raspberry lemonade spilling
World spinning
The baby
“Wake up”
She holds
The hand that shook her
His eyes dark with the dust
Dark with the night
Dark with the heartsoaked stitching
Undone from the seams
Of what was once a father
Still a husband
Dreading the dreams
“We have to go”
She knows
Clashing limbs and inhuman cries
Echo darkly in the night
“Tell me this isn’t real”
Baby playing in a yard somewhere behind his eyes
“No.”
