Flame in the Darkness

Did you know
what you are to me?
Did you feel
everything I have inside?
I am only simply
nothing more or less
than what you have given
I am only
the child you have risen
you are my legacy
you are my heart
you are my soul
you have taught me all
you could ever know
that which my mind could not absorb
my heart has taken within
everything you ever were
and now carries further more
the pain that resides within me
is only that for which I could not see
all that you were willing
and I could not partake

you have been my strength
my wisdom
you have been my pillar
my respect, my hope
my light

now you are my knowledge
that life still twinkles beyond death
because everything you have been to me
I will give to others
and you will be a flame
in the darkness

Please tell me what you think

Superb. As much pain as I see here, there is also a healthy balance of love. The last two lines are memorable and finish the poem on a most poigant note. Well done.
