The dark skyline is a comfort,
helps me drift into sleep tonight.
The downpour of the rain,
soothes the hurt inside.

If I could, I'd take away every ounce of pain,
that every spread through your body.
And if I could, I'd erase every storm,
you had to overcome.

I never knew my heart could crumble so fast.
I never thought it'd be so hard to breathe on my own.

Memories crowd my mind,
and at times its so hard to focus,
but its too much to escape from.

At times I swear your laughter is all I hear,
and its so hard to picture you not with us.

So far from where you are,
I swear I can still feel the rush of your touch
and the taste of your words.

All the times that were erased,
and the missed memories that flew by too quick.
All the moments I took for granted
every breath, every smile, every word.
I never thought I'd give the world for it all back.

And I never thought it was possibly to hurt like this.
I never thought that day would be the last day I saw you.
I never expected you to leave too soon.
I never thought saying goodbye would be this hard.
