She came across that broken road
Only to see her dreams slip away
As she said goodbye
To the one she ever truly loved.
Not a day goes by,
That she still wonders
What could have been
If she had chose to stay.
He said he still loved her
But actions speak louder
Than those three little words,
"I love you."
Trapped inside like a bird to its cage,
Her heart still attached
To that broken dream.
For it seems that yesterday is nothing but a distant memory .
As she recalls that fateful day,
When she made a true confession
Of her devout love for him.
Nothing lasts forever,
And she can't hold on
To this love,
Without her lover
Being next beside her.
