Breaking the Rules

There's a dead bird in my garden
It's that bloody cat, I see
He didn't read the rules
Birds should be flying, free.

I like. Unfortunate that cats have that wild instinct in them to hunt constantly. You did a good job in such short verse of showing your ire. Well done.

this was not an easy one. Rules gave us ; "there's a dead bird ...." and we had four lines only to work with. I appreciate yout thoughts and like your comment, many thanks to you.

I love to see all the birds flying around in amongst the trees. I hate it when the cat occasionally catches one. I appreciate your input, thank you.

Yes, cats can be a pain when they do that. On the other hand I had a part kelpie once who used to hunt and kill birds. My current dog is a staffy and is too slow to catch most things!

I'll never fuly understand cats, or dogs for that matter. We have one cat who hunts and kills, one who makes pets of the strangest things and a blue cattle dog who can tell one day in advance when chickens are ready to hatch. She then mothers the baby chicks.

We have two cats, one who hunts like a cat, and one who wants to keep his own pets, mice, wild ducks and baby rabbits. A weird cat, as he doesn't hurt anything, just brings it home to show us. many thanks for your comments.

Love your cat story! I have one cat who likes to catch lizards but continually lets them go again, only to re-catch them. After about 5 catches, her sister cat finally grabs the lizard and runs off and eats it. Poor lizard.

Our big cat actually minds the baby chickens when they are first hatched and will often sit at the hen house door in the late evening until we go and shut the door to keep foxes out at night.

That's great Bob. Those damn cats never follow the rules they're all lawbreakers. Good luck in the contest and happy holidays.
