wide eyed and wet
i watch
your fingertips
pulled skin
like you are just trying to get out
whats in
spun up in wordful thread
bound by fantasies
that will inevitably
not be found
chordless and lock-jawed
waiting for the next
turn of time
and the damn ticking of the clock
drives me mad
still
i do not move
or turn on the light
or speak
any unnecessary
information
this is dire circumstances
when our world
is at war

Love the wording, images and depth in this. It would be hard to pick a favorite line/phrase as this all goes so well together.
I especially like your last three lines,
'this is dire circumstances
when our world
is at war'
best wishes in the contest

Wow,
--I just sat here trying to think of something to write, my fingers didn't want to work, and that feeling just lingered--
It's not enough though, I'm constantly having to undecide what to say next, it's wonderful. Bar set.
Best of luck,
♥.
