Synaesthesia

                               Abstract chemistry of vibrant rhythms
                              struck the psychological euphony within

A canvas of united accents perfuming

complex organic shapes in the air

                            Resonant tunes vibrated hollow chambers
skillfully spraying a wash of harmonic blues.

Inspired, brass air columns buzzed mellow colors
                                orchestrating hues of gold chimes
                                              in tranquil hearts

Passionate tangerines struggled then to maintain equilibrium
as pitchy horns balanced pacing energy
                          showered by impatient synchronized crowds

" ...And there I sat. A silent observer applauding this

mystical synaesthesia created by colorful compositions

                                              of musical scores..

(at The Royal Philharmonic Orchestra 's Concert)"

Author notes

Prompt: Wassily Kandinsky's painting, 'Improvisation'.

Now a little about what I wrote. I've studied the famous essay, "Concerning the Spiritual in Art" in detail. While going through one of the chapters I read about how Kandinsky related certain colours with particular instruments. So, for example, the blues I referred to in the third stanza were the sounds from the cello, gold (yellow) in the fourth stanza was linked with the sound of the trumpet, and in the fifth stanza the tangerine (red/orange) with the tuba.

Overall, this write was on a musical evening. I haven't heard RPO live, ever. But I would love to. Hope all this information was helpful.

P.S: I know it's nothing great, but I'm glad I entered this brilliant contest. This one's for you Mommy Jin.

The blues ALSO represent a peace, and the yellow is chaos or depression, and comingling these colors creates a peaceful green. He's also responsible for the point of concentration (focal point) quantum verses the line of existence.
You're beautiful in this. The orchestra plays a beautiful concerto, and I am very proud of you.
You are an amazing poet, and you sell yourself short.
BE PROUD of yourself love, you deserve to be.

    CAPTIVATING!!!!!

Actually yeah I think I know what you are talking about, I saw a program on the history or travel channel, (not sure which) about people who can SEE colors, not just like the blue of the sky or the green grass but they can see colors from like bells ringing, or a person's name would be a certain color. Its really amazing and unique of what these people have, they can actually see everything.
And also, they had this guy on there who was blind and was able to draw 3-D images, the show was really unique.

Anyways for some reason this reminded me of this poem, It thought this write was great and I am glad it brought back that memory.

Wow. This is amazing Alyzeh! This is definitely taking the gold. I wish I hadn't entered this contest now! Hehehe. Our take on the prompt was completely different. I love Kandinsky's work. You seem to have studied it in detail though. I just used to go to Art museums, look at them, take pictures and then get art books and do the same, I would try to copy his work at times. Hahaha. But yes, very well done. Good luck to you in the contest although you do not need it one bit. This is amazing!!

    Much love
