i remember
how water seemed to slip
between our naked soles
and umbrellas protected
our brittle tired laughs from
getting drenched.
but umbrellas are flimsy
like your half-a-day promises.
as wet grass tickles my toes
raindrops seep through my smile
plastering my soul waterproof
and i drink the raindrops
that dance on the edge of my tongue.

anyhoo... goshies, you're the best at creating such wonderful imagery. you play around with words so well, and the simileys are really great. they just paint such a gorgeos mental image in mind
"as wet grass tickles my toes
raindrops seep through my smile
plastering my soul waterproof"
