Imagine that we are all inside out.
You and I and her and him, walking,
all with our insides showing.
Look at yourself in a mirror.
Can you smile at the reflection,
the shadowy, secret corners?
Now turn yourself right-side-out.
The metaphor is over,
but the wisdom lingers like life.
No one smiles and dances and laughs
with one that cannot do the same with
themselves. Fact.
Close your door, pull back the curtains,
flood your chamber with whatever light you like:
the sun and moon both smile.
Stare hard and glare with all the eyesight you have.
Do not stop till you can turn on the spot,
dancing with yourself. Laughing with yourself.
Smiling at yourself.
Do not stop 'till you could ride the waves of time
in to oblivion, alone, smiling all the way.
You're ready.
You can leave the fear underneath the bed.
You can open the door

I don't know if this will help you at all, but I sincerely hope it can. I'm not sure if it's beautiful enough to hit the soul.

This is an interesting write. It's one of those poetical messages that says more than maybe even the writer meant it to. It speaks to me about self love. I really do like the last stanza; I think it adds a very strong message at the end.
Thank you for entering.
