Lust In The City

Missing image

Nightlife spilled out

into darkened streets,

throaty windscapes

swirled in remnants

of the bar scene,

as we trekked off -

two surrogate lovers

seeking a blue moon

and faux romance

until dawn’s sunrise -

when wild animals

return to their cages.

    You blew me away with this.
    I didnt know this was No 19, or I would have labeled it as such.
    This poem is by far the most meaningful I've come across so far.

      Thank you for your thoughtful comments, Julie!!!

      I appreciate your stopping on to read my poem!!! I know the contest calls for "No love poems" but this isn't really a love poem - I don't think. It may be DQd... Anyway, thanks for the kudos!!! Peace always, Cyn
