I'm so thankful
for the ringing in my ears,
they bring in the cheer,
and the new year,
but they keep
sobriety out
incoherent, but pure,
I use my allure,
to pull in the truer,
that spout from my forgotten banks
I'm left here
abandoned
but not entirely alone
I'm so thankful
for your soulful hymn,
your guiding hands,
that amazing ring,
that tells me true,
this love's for you
now what're you going to do
but I'm most thankful
for the silent stares
voices without cares
meaningless dares,
that hold me on a pedestal
that's fall is inevitable
I feel you
and you applause
and I wonder the cause
that leaves me here
drowning in your atmosphere
not so innocent
this time

This has got a different feel to it. I like it, though, because it's unique. Usually, when people write what they're thankful for, it could be sappy or tear-jerking or cliche, but this is really interesting and diverse among all those other poems...
I love the ending. The third to last line is perfect. Awesome =) -
This is a really deep poem and great imagery with it as well. I think that at some point we've all wondered that about someone or something...
hmm..

Ringing in mine too, now. As usual, so many good thought in your words.
One thing- line 10, should it be "from my"? No matter, I loved the feeling from this poem, Shawna!
