Somedays
sometimes
we just need to get away
So take my hand and let this whole world fade away
We're living on sunlight
breathing in air
in this beat up old truck we could go anywhere
I know there's a place where we could go
it's just a little bit further
at the other end of the road
Days go by
forget counting minutes
or else what's the use in living
if all you're gonna do is regret
what's the sense in that?
so please wont you
run away with me darling
we'll keep on driving
until we run out of road
one more horizon
another sunrise
one more day spent with you
beneath God's saphire skies
Well I dont know about you
but I'm begining to feel
that this right here
is the only thing that's real
Hold my hand and never let go
Never let go
We're living on sunlight
breathing in air
in this beat up old truck we could
go anywhere
I know there's a place
where we could go
it's just a little bit further
at the other end of the road
one more horizon
another sunrise
one more day spent with you
beneath God's saphire skies
There goes the county line
here comes another road
Let's go for a ride
I don't care how far we go.
Author notes
I had the beginnings of this poem written down at one point and promptly forgot all about it.
I tend to do that a lot it seems...

You wrote on one of my favorite things to do, hp in and just ride. Try to get lost on back roads and just enjoy the miles of beauty.
Well written, I like the happy go lucky rhytm.

Hey I'm really glad you ending up coming back to this. It reads like a song and just creates this wistful feeling that makes me want to hit some nameless dirt roads with a friend. You keep this great theme of motion through the whole poem- the changing scenery, the repetition, the short, constantly changing verses...
great write. I really enjoyed it and I wish you the best of luck in the contest. (I guess it's more skill really but it's an expression...)
