It's 1am
a chill cloaks
the south downs
as Sunday mornings
lightslogs in the distance
a 70's pace is all it can
muster
glazed eyes
fight the darkness
that convenes
unchallenged
behind me
a string of rhythms
shriek sexual
innuendo while
cannibis coated lullabies
pulse in my ears
I look skyward
from the crowd
that keeps me upright
throngs of magic lights
stare me down
as Jimmys makes
love to his strings
his melody is erect
with passion
star spangled banner
splits the air
and tears me apart
Was I really there,
at least my body was.

Jimi....sigh. I have never heard him play but I know from watching him that he rocked the world. Thank you so much for writing this poem. You took me there.
Love, Lane

Amazing how his work was more popular as he died in the beginning of the '70s so you were fortunate to have that memory, you made it feel like I was there.

Thank you
Many thanks for taking time to read this despite the typo "lightslogs" which should be light slogs.
Gratitude.

Thank you
I see a little typo which I guess I can excuse because while writing this I was really back in that moment. This was the last time he played for the public. What a time I had, just 19y dumb but alive.
Thank you for time my man and for the feed back.
