Today I have a meaning.
Today my thoughts are free.
Today I have courage
To fight the enemy.
Though the roads not always easy,
And the bloodshed may be found
I will fight with all conviction!
I will drive them to the ground!
I will do the deed and love it!
I will make our country grin!
I will fight with determination!
I will fight and I will Win!
But when the battle's over,
and the guns are on standby,
The raging thoughts'll catch up to me
and it is then, that I will cry.

Poet
My what a wise and thoughtful piece of poetry. Yes, those brave fight for our country and many then silently weep. Powerful write young poet.

This is such an empowering poem, really capturing what it means to be a soilder that will fight to defend home, country and countrymen. I especially like the part where you capitalized the word Win, because it gives it that extra bit of umph the word needs to really stand out against the rest of the poem. However, my favorite part has to come at the end though, when all the thoughts catch up with the soilder, because in time they always do. They can not hide from all they've seen, no matter how much they want to and that needs to be remembered just as much as their courage needs to be celebrated.
