He is Love, but is hated;
gives everlasting riches,
but poverty our choice.
He resurrects to eternal Life
but death is our self-infliction.
Yet: He forgives
even before we sin.

Great poem, it's always interesting to read something written by a believer seeing as I am not one.
Thank you for entering my contest and good luck. -
WOW! I noticed that the contest prompt/title was "take my breath away" and that you most certainly did! Such powerful words of truth! Indeed it is ironic how humans:
-Hate the one who IS love
-Choose poverty over everlasting riches
-Choose death over eternal life
Wonderous...and ....wow...
Love and Light

He is the champion unrequited lover of all time...

He was not what humankind wanted, just so much more!!
The Pharisees wanted a King to free them from Roman opression, they saw the Messiah as the King that would take on the Roman Empire to break the Hebrews free and make them a sovereign nation again, but instead HE came to establish a Kingdom that would reach beyond the known kingdoms and empires of the world....
Now we are so privileged to get an "upgrade" from this broken world into the garden of Eden, forever....
Thank you for reminding me to this wonderful event!!!

You have such a gentle way of hammering your point home.

Excellent
'tis a very fine write, indeed. I like it just the way it is. Thanks for sharing this one with us. Again, well done. -
There is a warping and twisting pain in every negative choice - if God loves me though I am not worthy, that makes God a fool. The flaw must be in what I was taught, and all that God made is worthy.
Your poem is very short, but you shine a bright light on the errors of our traditional thinking.

The near brain dead breed of man is so disturbingly stupid that he is persistently tempted to think he is smart. The shipload of paradoxes that he finds impossible to conquer should suggest to him that such is not the case, but this fact is still light years beyond his ability to grasp. For this reason man must be utterly annoying to supreme beings. But I guess there is only one among them supreme enough to be able to forgive man his stupefying ignorance. Thank you for creating and sharing and the best of luck in the contest.

With that we are to give thanks...He is worthy, nice choice of words to speak truth!
