I found God today at the bottom of a bottle
Or maybe I found God in the syringe of the needle in my arm
Did I find God in the midst of the highest of highs?
Nay...none of these places did I find God
I found God when I was laying on my back on the dingy carpet
With blood flowing like a virgins holy tears out of the corners of my lips
In the midst of thrashing uncontrollably, heaving, crying, cursing
That is the place that I found God...
No holy synagogue, no Baptist church, or a Jewish temple
But in the sweltering heat of a dingy, dank, dark apartment
Where the mice are my closest friends and my cot is theirs
Where bullets have punched through the walls numerous times
In this place is a broken little boy who thought he was strong...
But his strength wasn't even there anymore at all because of the needle
The final dance with death was where he longed to be but instead...
That is where I found God and where he found me...

Well penned and true! God is not contained to a specific building. He can be found anywhere. Gosh I read this and it's very real. Very raw I think, not sugar coated. I like it. A lot. -Liz

Imagery = great. You put so much more description in your poetry than I do. I know that I was writing this in a comment some time earlier on someone else's piece... but my poetry always comes out very vague and ambiguous. I'm glad to see that someone can use imagery and flowery words to their advantage. I also love where you took this title prompt. Great job.
