The soft sound of leaves crunching shatters the silence of the whispering angels
Another step into the gray matter of this black life that surrounds and swirls
Each swirl fades and forms to create this man as he steps away to run...run again
Nothing but a faded jacket and a mind full of questions he begins to walk away
All around him are the angels that were singing to him so softly calling him back
Their voices lift to their kinds highest notes of beauty backed with peace
Yet his hardened ears full of blame, anger, disappointment and sadness
Will never hear these angels calling...or are they demons whose song is dark?
He steps away from himself, leaving the good and the evil behind...
Yet how does he keep them from following him place to place?
For no man can out run what he is or who he is destined to be...
Yet many times, he must run to find who he is and where he is to be...

I especially love the first line. Kind of reminds me of the place I was at in High School. Well written, great imagery! Keep up the fantastic work! -Liz
