Because I'm made of wood,
they think I've got no feelings,
They measure my worth
not by who I am,
but whether I'm tall enough
to reach up to their ceilings,
They strip away my dignity,
fill my arms full of lights,
Then stand around me
rudely staring,
and singing
'off key ' christmas carols,
Drunkenly night
after blooming night,
Don't they realise
the damage it causes
to my family tree,
As they walk around the forest
with their axes swinging,
and laughing happily,
So, try to remember this christmas,
To be extra kind
to your christmas tree,
for it may be a relative of mine
or one of my friends mothers,
And when you carry your tree home finally
on christmas eve,
Please !! remember,
He ain't heavy,
But ! He's my brother
