When oft it may be and oft it is
I stroll with abandon free
Children of nature all around
this I know by their sound
Mighty timbers make some home
others through the forest roam
prints on ground they leave
bones of food, none to grieve
clean and crisp the air I smell
sweet flowers scent I can tell
beams of light sprinkle the air
golden rays that fill my hair
Hints of pine smell so clean
ferns' musk, just so lean
playful squirrels run about
gathering nuts as they shout
not so very far away
I hear a bear cub at play
her mother I know is near
so I know there is reason to fear
onward I walk in calm
serenity is my balm
deer run by the stream
which is a crisp blue green
Puffs of white fill the sky
of cerilian blue - like a pie
merrangued in nature's way
always moving without delay
Stopping for a short rest
at this point I feel so blessed
be to able to enter here
sharing with nature this cheer
Soon I will need to start home
again one day here I will raom
All the beauty I have found
on such simple woody ground
