Affection moves in circles, we give and we receive;
whatever anyone may seek, we find what we believe.
The happiest of people is surely one who knows
affection moves in circles, but first it always goes.
The circles move in circles and one may turn the rest;
appreciation turns the crank, to make the better best.
If love is like a fluid, ensure it always flows!
Affection moves in circles, but first it always goes.
Affection moves in circles as night proceeds to day;
give to those who need it, and give without delay -
giving is a blessing, by which all blessing grows;
affection moves in circles, but first it always goes.
Let's dance a ring of happiness and join the growing band,
to pass on joy in circles, from hand to loving hand.
The daring heart is generous, and its example shows
affection moves in circles, but first it always goes.
So if you're feeling lonely and want a little chat,
if time is weighing heavy or your shoulder needs a pat,
drop a word to me sometime, or message me a rose -
affection moves in circles, but first it always goes.
The happiest of people is surely one who knows
affection moves in circles, but first it always goes.
In a list
Please tell me what you think.

Action creates reaction,
stimulates affection,
as if love sees its reflection
once released into the circle's circulation...
Generously daring, a genuine way of life...
A marvelous piece, Margaret.

Oh, you have discerned, expressed and written that truth so beautifully Margaret!
I always find a gem of yours like this at just the right moment too
I often wish I could do more, be more places at once, but realize there is an order and flow to everything - of need and priority - reasons for things we can't always see (and hope my friends know I'm not intentionally neglectful
)

Thank you Gen ((hug))
It is very hard to know what people need, and when. It makes me happy that the universe has moved me into a position to help you this time.
Sending out a little affection may bring more back.
I hope that all is well and you may rotate back to a near orbit one day.

Always near for you, my friend
just need a nudge sometimes

Almost puts tears in my eyes. Just when I think I've killed all human emotions one breaks in...I have to kill that.

But no, it's true, and why it does, beyond my own personal thoughts that are attached to your words is just the way you expressed it...the ability with which you stated these truths...very open, heartfelt...in a way I wouldn't dare, for fear of being too open, too expresive...I wish I were like that.
I don't know what I am...am I a happy person? Sometimes I am.
And you are right of course...no circle ever is without a beginning, that flowing outward...and you have put it in motion. I send it back...as tattered as it may have become in transit.

Thank you
That is a wonderful appreciative comment, and you get into the question of what art is and what it is for. We are not sharing secrets, but basic humanity, in my opinion. There is nothing particularly personal about this.

Thus it is the tenderness which we have and live
mirrors blessing faced with heart we move to share and give~
love unfurling radiance, pure as petals on a rose,
for affection moves in circles, but first it always goes!
Magaret, You are such a beautiful reflection!
This is truly inspired!

and so it goes, a great description of the effect of human touch

Your poem is infectious ...
for it instigated in my heart its affection! Yes, it is a song, and I dance the Dance of Happiness.
Thank you for giving me the joy of your soul. I love you so for that attribute, amongst many others.
Love
Myra

Let's jig a little, and end with smiles.
Thank you sweetheart, your comment is happy for me.

"...'the greatest thing you'll ever learn
is just to love and be loved in return'..."
(from the song 'Nature Boy')
You see, "to love" comes first...
When we give it and live it, love always returns. There's another song I heard long ago that said, "You've got to prime that pump before you heave/ you've got to give of yourself before you can receive/ drink all the water you can hold, wash your face, cool your feet/ but leave a bottle for others, like the guy named Dessert Pete". What goes around comes around....
Thank you for this beautiful gift,
Rahad

Thanks for these songs, Rahad, they are saying the same thing in their own way. The more voices with one message that we have, the more likely it is to be heard. Thanks for your appreciation, I'm happy you like this!

This is lovely and so true, what goes 'round comes 'round.
so i'm passing on a cuddle
'cos its nicer than a rose
to all of those who read this
and so the circle goes -----

Thank you Ronnica! Hugs and appreciation are good for the giver and the one who receives them. Your comment is exactly in harmony with my poem, I appreciate that!

Your words are very meaningful, and also very true
We should pass on affection, though it's difficult to do
Too often spite and hatred's what we pass along the line
Let's polish up our giving, and cause the world to shine
The circularity of the poem is striking - like the circularity of affection.
-
-
I hear you Keith. Receiving spite and hatred, it is difficult not to pass that along, usually down the pecking order. It is possible to vent frustration without blaming the listener; better to state the infraction and let the irritation go. On the other side, the circles of appreciation and affection make things better and better. I'm happy you like the poem.
