Do you recall the day,
My world came crashing down?
The day you fell so hard,
Upon the frozen ground.
I watched you fall,
Running, screaming, shouting,
Tears streaming down my face,
Broken sobs echoing.
Feeble fingers reach to touch,
Your marble skin's still warm,
But you're bleeding so severely.
How? When there's no heartbeat from within?
Shaking your still body,
Begging you to wake,
I cannot live without you,
Please, speak or move for me!
My mind goes blank,
As tears dry up,
And my soul is choked to death.
Please, oh please, come back!
Misery moves in,
Preying on black sorrow,
Stalking as I think about,
Your promises to me.
You said you'd never leave me,
You promised not to die,
You said we would be happy,
But now I knew it as you fell.
You lied.
