How do I know love?
To love is to imagine forever, to look in someones eyes and get lost, feel your knees fail you. To love is to make a fool of yourself and not care about the consequences.
I know I am in love when I know I would cut off my arm to see them smile, when at a whim I would die for them.
I know I am in love when I sense them entering a room, and the thought of a simple kiss is all I need to go on.
I mean no cliches, I have felt this way for one, and one has felt this way for me. its a feeling that no matter how hard you try, you will never forget.
Do I really know love?
I would like to think so, but to explain in any form, is like explaining color to the blind.
Love is something we all feel differently, yet so many the same.
How do i know love?
I just do.

Man, I liked how you ended this. It is so exactly true that "Love" is different in different aspects to everyone. It is quite a tough thing to describe, which is why I held this contest, because I wanted to know if someone could come up with a mere definition for "Love". And as I've noticed, there are a lot of differences
This piece rocks! Though, I don't know about cutting my arm off just to make someone smile. I'd smack them, or tickle them, but cut off my arm? Are you insane??!!

How do you explain love? How do you explain color to a blind person...or music to a deaf person? I believe none of these questions can easily be answered. As far as being in love - you just know. I know that feeling - it's not something that can easily be explained. Your words are so touching, so true. Great job on this and good luck in the contest!

Very good outlook on love. I love the way that this poem is based around the one question - 'how do I know love?'
You make your points very well and I like how at the end you haven't really come to the one conclusion - you just say 'I just do' - I don't believe that love can be fully explained - it's one of those great mysteries of life. I think your poem sums this up very well - love is very different depending on who you are.
