Such memories wane beneath labored clouds
--faint traces of yesterday's sun
a merry-go-round lies abandoned now
its pleasures are owned by no one
Obscured is the laughter, the merriment
the smiles that were never to fade
The mist that rolls draped, a dapple gray shroud
disguising the sun with its shade
The mooring lines that once fastened tents
staked bare, now devoid of their ropes
and such are the fliers, cast to the wind
that carries off such arid hopes.

Now this one reminded me 'Breaking Down the Tents' or just of the title...
A sad end to a happy time. Did I read this one before? I don't think I did, it's very good!!!

Yes, me and clowns and tents and such.
Thanks, you are the pretty trapeze artist...or the bearded lately. I haven't seen a photo of you lately so, you never know...

Sad and somber scene when the fair is over and only remnants of once held happiness and fun remain in bits and pieces left behind or simply abandoned. Some good lines in this but what stands out for me is your use of "staked bare" referring to mooring lines and a sense of vulnerability.
Now I'm craving a funnel cake. lol

I'm craving a cheeseburger. I know where there is a giant five foot one that used to be a Mayor. You bring the knife, I'll bring the shackles to hold him down!

And there on the park bench
sits Bonko, no longer recognizable
for his trademark look,
costumed now as temp laborer,
sports logo sweatshirt and jeans.
Ah, poet, you do create a mood
that not only describes the scene
but the emptiness that pervades
the characters that once paraded
happily on premise.
Yem, the poet/artist. creating
and observing the scene...
Time for more tapping of the keys...
