I kissed his cheek
He smiled with warm affection
He turned and gazed
I met his stare
He hugged me with protection
He was in love
I had a friend
His eyes beheld confession
He wanted me
I wanted none
He silenced his obsession
His face drew near
I turned away
He asked me just this question:
"If he were gone
And I was clean
Would you be my possession?"
Author notes
This is a very old poem, written back in May when my "boyfriend" and I were having problems. I went to a concert and found one of my ex's there and he was flirting with me the entire night. I wound up letting him kiss me, though I never kissed back, and that basically ruined whatever was left of my "relationship" with the abusive guy I had currently been "dating."
I guess I can thank him for having such an unbearable crush on me, but it made my life living hell for a while afterward. He is a good kisser though...

Thank you for your entry in the contest. An interesting poem with some good rhyme, but we found it lacking on the narrative side, the content was a little light.
All the best in the contest.

Hmmm, well being in anabusive relationship really isn't good for you. I was in one too when I was a little older than you. He was controlling and he wanted to break up with me every argument we had.

Mei amor! So touching...

Um... What language is that supposed to be? I think you were attempting Latin... In which case it would be "Mea amor," not "Mei." Genius, Teuc...
I must give you credit, though, you are improving. Latin-wise, at least. You are still under the misconception that I am your "love."
*sigh*
Good luck, though!
