The Writer

He watched the flies seethe madly about,
entranced by the ardent shower
of an incandescent lamp,
like some hypnotic flower.

He set to work at his wooden desk,
recording their final hour
with a telephoto lens
(portraying Kurosawa)

He could not help but see the world
below his ivory tower,
staring down at all the ants
too vain to know his power.

Art lies in the eye of its creator,
as images and words to the writer.
The focus, the lens make all the
    difference between art and trash!

Nah, I'm just better than everyone else and stand above them, thinking they are ants...or flies.

Reminiscent of the advice to the nervous speaker,
re picturing the audience in only their underwear,
giving the speaker the advantage of confidence!
