He stares out the window that is his life,
to the fork of the unwinding road.
To the left, his thoughts follow the path
of lands that form in daydreams.
To the right, the road, it dwindles away--
the repose of all would-be plans.
But here, alone, mindful of time,
he watches the minutes pass by.
One eye on the road,
one eye on the clock,
but dreams, one never never can stop.

Paths, indecisions,
until one day
the dreams take hold
of him and drag him off
to live life within the dream...

I pretty much live within a dream. Ok, that may be sad but I'm happy, lol
Will read your entry in a few minutes.

It's a good thing there is a fork in the road rather than chopsticks.

You would think an "unwinding" road would be easy to travel but here it carries a sense of maybe the mundane of the daily grind of life as opposed to the life pictured in daydreams which has passed by and could be seen as a waste of time which the speaker sees ticking away. Despite feeling these dreams are a waste of time, he can't stop his mind from holding on to some of them.
