Real Life II (At The Laundromat)

The blood--the walls bear the splat
at the coin operated laundromat
for I have managed once again
to kill between the rinse and spin.

For I have committed heinous crimes
while dropping in my quarters and dimes
sins against those nearest me--
like this lady folding drapery.

For though I would not say this loud,
there are things of which I am proud--
the heads I've split with washer lids--
the dryers crammed with snotty kids.

And when my things are nice n'clean,
I wipe the evidence from the scene
and with my clothes I calmly flee
from my weekly murder spree.

Umm lots of people I assume. I haven't used one in a few years though. Heck, I am a blast from the past...I feel so old now.

And who says doing laundry is dull! Never read a poem about a laudromat. You've done it and made me burst out laughing...

it's a mind game that just costs coins, but is fun nevertheless - kill them and smile as the washing machine takes photographic evidence, every bubble that is popped is a scene captured, the thought police of big brother, take care, they will come for you if you don't mask your thoughts with yoghurt cartons.

I am a boyscout! Every week a murder spree...it's the same thing in the soda aisle when people take the last Moxie before I can!

I never had my clothes on a laundromat. it doesn't apply here, atleast in my province so when I get to see, I will definitely be an ignoramus

You aren't missing anything! It's just a lot of strangers there washing and drying their clothes. Rather boring and impersonal. Just like every walk of life, sometimes there are idiots there...those are the ones I kill in my mind.

Is this what is meant, literally, as a clean get away? ! Real life drama at the wash-a-rama took me back to that vacuum packed space where, for awhile, nothing else mattered except escaping the tedium.

        my interpretation of the picture...

The woman used bad judgment and was trying to dye a rug red... and she opened the front-loading washing machine. WOW WOW WOW!!! Look what happened to HER! lol

    Smiling here a LOT!

Funny thing... your poem seems exactly right for the contest that Starz of Heaven is hosting right now. You might pop over and see the picture that goes with it. lol Like it could happen in the laundromat. YES! It's a contest about a Bow... newly listed today. Oh, please do look, for the picture is so startling. I love your poem, you can tell. FUNNNN!

Oh the laundromat poem is just imaginative death, not a literal one. I'm too squeamish to write about real murder.

What many would like to do but would never admit, except for you of course. lol

I dread when my home machines are down and a trip to the laundromat must be endured. Makes the per pound cost of a "wash and fold" service seem not all that overpriced.

    Very funny Yem.

It was just symbolic murder. It's what used to go through my head when I used to go to the laundromat. Some odd people used to go there. It made me feel very sane.

Laundromats can be freak shows but make for interesting story/poetry inspiration as you've demonstrated here...lol.

You would be considered sane in that lot.
