A little mouse that we called Gypsy
Was feeling just somewhat quite tipsy
When he drank a small mug full of beer
We watched him as he toppled over
On the head of our puppy named Rover
And onto the floor the poor dear
He tried hard to get to his feet
His antics were funny and sweet
And Gypsy was hiccuping madly
He took him one step and then two
And swaggered as the effects grew
And Rover was watching him sadly
We sensed a big smile on his face
As he waddled all over the place
What a spell that mouse had us under
Then Gypsy bumped into the door
And went sprawling all over the floor
And Rovers eyes followed with wonder
Then up on his hind legs he drew
As his faith and his confidence grew
And he sparred with an invisible foe
He did a slight jig and tap dance
As Rover watched on in a trance
And to the floor poor old Gypsy did go
Then Gypsy’s head flopped all around
As he rolled there all over the ground
Then he fell on his back where he stayed
He slept and he slept through the night
We’d never seen a funnier sight
Than when Gypsy got plastered that day
Was feeling just somewhat quite tipsy
When he drank a small mug full of beer
We watched him as he toppled over
On the head of our puppy named Rover
And onto the floor the poor dear
He tried hard to get to his feet
His antics were funny and sweet
And Gypsy was hiccuping madly
He took him one step and then two
And swaggered as the effects grew
And Rover was watching him sadly
We sensed a big smile on his face
As he waddled all over the place
What a spell that mouse had us under
Then Gypsy bumped into the door
And went sprawling all over the floor
And Rovers eyes followed with wonder
Then up on his hind legs he drew
As his faith and his confidence grew
And he sparred with an invisible foe
He did a slight jig and tap dance
As Rover watched on in a trance
And to the floor poor old Gypsy did go
Then Gypsy’s head flopped all around
As he rolled there all over the ground
Then he fell on his back where he stayed
He slept and he slept through the night
We’d never seen a funnier sight
Than when Gypsy got plastered that day

Cute one, I just read this to my daughter and now she wants a print out of Gypsy's picture. I thought the imagery of him putting his dukes up was funny.

Enjoyed the rhyme and the flow and I liked the structure also. But, the story was cute no matter the rest and for that you can be considered one of the best.

EXCELLENT
It is always pleasing to read poetry that has that touch of humour to it. Far to much serious stuff around.Seems like even drunken mice love to end up fighting (do they learn it from watching drunken males go at it after a few jars?) Excellent piece a pleasure to have clicked on and read Thank you

Thank you so much, Legend. It is such an honour to get a comment from you. I'm stoked! I guess that poor little mouse was probably seeing double. Good thing he had Rover watching over him. Thank you again.

That's very cute. I've seen an intoxicated cat on occasion but never a mouse. It's a lovely written rhyme. Happy trails.

Dear Condor
What a cute poem! Is that your pc's mouse?
When I see stuff like that I'm ashamed that I ever ate meat.
Nice poem. I hope a broader and younger audience gets to see this adorable story.
Great job!
