Broken Vow

A trip on a plane led to rapid descent;
a small bag of Quickrete turned to cement;
twelve years of bliss for a life of lament;
when you said, "I do," at our covenant,
in hindsight, I didn't know what you meant.

    Those lines are beautifully sorrowful. Writes such as this tug at the heart and I welcome that. Wonderfully done!

    By the way, I figured quickrete was cement lol.

    This is a nicely rhymed lament. In the words of 'Bubbah' - I feel your pain. Best of luck in the contest.
