Tedious can be life
alarm clock predictable
and thus arrived a welcomed suprise;
a single rose, unwritten note, laid upon my porch.
Bubble bath and sweetest wine soothe a long day spine.
A fragrant scent of fresh petals tenderly arouse
...until the lights shut off....
growling laughter permeates hushed dark.
Softly bathed, flesh trembling,
shudder thoughts.
..now is the time, to live or die.
Stand your ground or bleed trying..
Bathroom weapons are valued companions
in the arsenal of women.
Razors sharp, hair spray tonics, burn and singe
but not quite enough to save our tears and life.
Startling willpower and shivering might
sight the fire extinguisher.
When was it I last prayed, attended church,
for right now....
God had better be by my side.
Nakedly awaiting for the approaching
echoed...his words of mocking, endless talking,
I tune his bitter voice...out.
Faintly chanting, one, two, three
hairspray, razor, fire extinguisher,
do not stop until he's bled upon the ground.
Blinding lights, wailing sirens sound,
uniforms of blue scatter all about,
"ma'am..ma'am...are you alright..
can you tell us what happened."
Lifting me out of my bubble bath,
spilling my soothing wine
a single rose fragrantly scented through out.
A pool of blood and spattered tissue
lay outside the door with a written note...
"my love, I'll be back for more"
