Could I but touch you once more,
I would kiss your lips so tenderly
That the mortal earth itself
Would succumb to sighs and fall into serenity.
Should I see you just once more
I would steal you away to the furthest moon
And tell you how beautiful the sunlight plays a golden fancy
Like sunset upon your face.
Would I just hear your magical voice once more
I would take your laugh and pin it to my heart,
Listening as it strokes me to sleep
With a gentle lullaby.
Had I just breathed the sweetest scent once more,
I would fly towards the stars to catch them,
And wrap each in a chain around your perfect finger,
Moulding a ring to outshine all the gems in the world.
If I could just hold you once more,
So lightly inside my arms,
I swear the world would halt
And time shatter into unrepairable pieces.
Your reflection still flutters against the windows
Destroying my control with an illusion;
An angel that has passed without me
Through the highest gates of heaven.
And voices sing that it’s too late for those
Secret kisses or long goodbyes;
So short is life that it will not pause
To give two waiting lovers one last chance to outwit fate.

The first three stanzas were beautiful. The beginning caught me right away. Only thing was, I kind of got lost in the middle.I felt it was a little weak. Myabe it's just me, haha. But overall, your imagery cast me off to another world. It was breath taking!

Oh god this is one amazing piece.
It’s, by far, one of my favorites!
You painted a picture of what you would have done if you had one more chance to do all those things m a kiss the scent, embracing his touch once more but this time entrap it, for it to be not a moment, a day or for years... but for eternity. Your imagery is powerful, moving, capturing, I believed how much you wanted him, how much you would’ve gave up the world, anything it takes to bring it back. And keep it.
It all flowed seamlessly and how it ended, well a mixture of hope and sorrow I guess an exceedingly prevailing ending.
