Like Dew

faithfulness like dew
on the ground in the morning
it then disappears

man wants what he wants
regardless of the outcome
receives what is due

busyness of life
consuming our thoughts and hearts
will bring a coldness

daily life consumes
leaving us prey for evil
seek Him in silence

watch and keep garments
ready for His appearance
not caught unaware

Author notes

Hosea 6:4 O Ephraim, what shall I do unto thee? O Judah, what shall I do unto thee? for your goodness [faithfulness] is as a morning cloud, and as the early dew it goeth away.
Ga 6:7 Be not deceived; Elohim is not mocked: for whatsoever a man soweth, that shall he also reap.
8 For he that soweth to his flesh shall of the flesh reap corruption; but he that soweth to the Spirit shall of the Spirit reap life everlasting.
9 And let us not be weary in well doing: for in due season we shall reap, if we faint not.
Mt 24:12 And because iniquity shall abound, the love of many shall wax cold.
Mt 14:23 And when He had sent the multitudes away, He went up into a mountain apart to pray: and when the evening was come, He was there alone.
Mt 24:42 Watch therefore: for ye know not what hour your Master doth come.
43 But know this, that if the goodman of the house had known in what watch the thief would come, he would have watched, and would not have suffered his house to be broken up.
Mt 25:13 Watch therefore, for ye know neither the day nor the hour wherein the Son of man cometh.
Rev 16:15 Behold, I come as a thief. Blessed is he that watcheth, and keepeth his garments, lest he walk naked, and they see his shame.

I like this...the mention of the bridal garments. A good work and courage filled. Good stuff, fellow Nazarene. (I thought I was the only one!)

    • Surely

there are few who truly follow The Nazarene. I'm not of the Nazarene Church...I'm nondenominational ~ not Protestant ~ I'm a disciple of The Nazarene. I'll have to go to your HP! Thanks for reading & your kind comments!

Indeed, if we do not separate ourselves from the world, we will be consumed by it. After all, until Christ returns, Satan has free reign here and the worldly things are his to offer. He simply fails to put a warning with that offer: careful, deadly.

    Very good senryu chain, Kathie!

w00t, I love your thoughts. Much like my own, when I was younger. I like it.

    • Thanks ...

for reading! When you were younger? I'm 57 now & find these thoughts to be timeless! Perhaps it's time to become young in heart! Glad you like this & took the time to comment. I just went to your Home Page & see you're 16! Pulling my leg eh? Not nice to do to an older woman!

      Thanks for reading!

This poem is inspiration based on His Word as recorded in Scripture so what you're saying is that you don't agree with Scripture? If it made you think & gave you chills perhaps you should read it again & then the Scripture I quoted which details the meaning of the poem! Thanks for your comment!
